This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the Somni app for iPhone, the Somni mini-app in Telegram, and this website (together, “Somni”). “We” and “us” mean the developer of Somni as shown on the App Store listing. Questions: hello@somni.auradev.tech.
The short version. You don’t need to give us your name, email or phone number to use the app. Your sleep logs and chats stay tied to a random account ID, not to who you are. We don’t sell your data, we don’t show ads, and we don’t track you across other companies’ apps or websites. You can delete everything at any time.
| Data | Examples | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Account ID | A random ID created on first launch and stored in your iPhone’s Keychain. It is not your Apple ID, phone number or email. | To sync your progress and restore it after reinstalling. |
| Sleep and wellness entries | Your onboarding answers, chosen sleep window, morning check-ins (how you slept, how you feel), habits and evening-routine steps, which audio sessions you used. | To build and adjust your plan and show your progress. |
| Messages to the sleep coach | What you type into the coach chat and the coach’s replies. | To answer you, using your recent nights for context. |
| In-app progress | Island buildings, coins, streaks, settings, language, time zone. | To run the app and keep it in sync between devices. |
| Usage data | Sessions, screens opened, buttons tapped, app version, device platform. | To understand what works and fix what doesn’t. Measured by our own server, not by an advertising or analytics SDK. |
| Error reports | The text of an app error, file and line. We strip emails, IDs and tokens before saving. | To find and fix bugs. |
We don’t collect your location, contacts, photos, microphone, camera or Apple Health data. Reminders are scheduled on your iPhone; their contents never leave it. If you use Somni in Telegram, we also receive your Telegram user ID, first name, username and language from Telegram.
On iPhone, subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple. We never see your card details or Apple ID. Apple tells us only whether your subscription is active, so we can unlock the paid features. In the Telegram version (Russia only), payments are processed by T-Bank (Tinkoff); we receive the payment status and the email you give for the receipt.
The coach is powered by a large language model provided by Anthropic. When you send a message, our server passes to the model your message, a short summary of your earlier conversation and your recent sleep entries — without your name, email or Telegram/Apple identifiers. Anthropic processes this data only to generate the reply, under a commercial agreement that does not allow it to use the data to train its models. Using the coach is optional; the rest of Somni works without it.
The coach is a wellness helper, not a clinician. It can be wrong. It does not diagnose and will point you to a doctor for medical questions.
If you join the waitlist on this site, we collect the name and email you type, and campaign tags from the link you followed (for example, “instagram”). Emails are sent through Resend. The site measures visits with Google Analytics and Yandex Metrica and loads fonts from Google Fonts; these services receive your IP address and browser details under their own policies.
We share data with nobody else, except when the law requires it. We do not sell or “share” personal information for targeted advertising, as those words are defined in US state privacy laws, and we do not use your health or wellness data for advertising or marketing.
Wherever you live, you can ask us to access, correct, export or delete your data, and to stop processing it. To delete your account and all its data, use Delete account in the app’s profile, or write to hello@somni.auradev.tech and we’ll help you find your account. We complete requests within 30 days and confirm when it’s done. We won’t treat you differently for using these rights. Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Washington and other US states, and of the EU/UK, have these rights by law; if we refuse a request, you may appeal by replying to our answer.
Deleting the app removes the data on your iPhone, but not on our server — use the in-app option or email us for that.
Sleep entries may count as “consumer health data.” We collect it only to provide the features you ask for, with your consent given when you start onboarding. We don’t sell it, don’t use it for ads, and share it only with the processors in section 5 for the purposes described. You can withdraw consent and have it deleted at any time as described in section 7.
Data travels only over encrypted connections (HTTPS). The account key on your iPhone lives in the Keychain. Access to the server is limited to our team. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, we’ll tell you as the law requires.
Somni is for adults 18 and over. We don’t knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has used Somni, write to us and we will delete the data.
Our server is in the EU and Anthropic processes data in the US. Where the law requires, these transfers rely on standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards.
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date above. If the change is significant, we’ll tell you in the app before it takes effect.
Not a medical device. Somni is an educational wellness product. It is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or sleep disorder, and it does not replace care from your healthcare provider. If you’re in crisis, call or text 988 (US). In an emergency, call 911.
